Author Event - David B. Watts
Author David B. Watts Signing and Reading
Sunday, August 9th, 2026 from 11-1PM
Reading at 12PM
David B. Watts started in life as a young police detective in the turbulent sixties, which launched him into a four-decade career in the private sector as a licensed private investigator. His cases ranged from murder, fraud, and embezzlement to major corporate security issues. David has been active in several investigative professional organizations and is respected among his peers.
His first book, "Accidental P.I.," is a memoir that peels back the mystique of the investigator's mindset, as well as chronicling his inspirational outlook on life. Great Amazon reviews then encouraged David to write his first novel, "Loose Ends - Murder in the New Jersey Suburbs." More positive reviews--and six Barnes and Noble book signings later-- brought forth two more novels: "The Dementia Conspiracy" and "Sex and Souls for Sale." Mark Twain said, "Write what you know." David B. Watts does just that!

Trivia Tuesday! Bad Reviews
Consider this your formal invitation to show off all the delightful, useless, and wildly impressive knowledge you’ve been collecting over the years. Expect clever questions, literary nods, general knowledge curveballs, and the cozy chaos that only happens when curious minds gather among shelves of books. Come solo or bring a team. Confidence optional, enthusiasm encouraged.

To celebrate Bookstore Romance Day we are featuring a signing and reading with Kimberley Ash!
Award-winning author Kimberley Ash is a British expat who has lived in and loved New Jersey for more than 30 years. She writes fish-out-of-water stories about people who find home where they least expect it. When not writing contemporary romance or romantic women’s fiction, she can usually be found cleaning up after her two big white furry dogs and slightly less furry children.

Self Publishing Workshop with Mark McNEase
Publishing has changed. The path from finished manuscript to published book has never been more accessible, but it can also feel overwhelming without the right guidance. This workshop demystifies the self-publishing process from start to finish, covering everything from manuscript preparation and formatting to cover design considerations, ISBN registration, metadata, distribution platforms, and how to position your book for readers.
Drawing on years of experience as an independent author and publisher, Mark will walk you through the decisions you’ll need to make, the tools that work, and the pitfalls to avoid. By the end, you’ll have a clear, realistic picture of what it takes to bring your book into the world on your own terms, with professionalism and confidence.
